Usaj Realty and Raices Brewing recently teamed up to raise money for Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver. Nearly 125 people attended the Hops for Humanity benefit which collected over $2,500 for the organization.
Habitat for Humanity staff along with hundreds of volunteers builds functional homes for deserving families in the Denver area who otherwise wouldn’t be able to achieve the goal of homeownership.
Brokers and staff of Usaj Realty along with their clients and friends enjoyed a perfect evening at the brewery, basking in the outdoor and indoor spaces at this unique brewery situated along the banks of the South Platte River. Raices donated the space for the get-together and prides itself on giving back to the Latino community. We want to personally thank all who donated and attended the event!
As a Latino-owned brewery, Raíces features award-winning craft beers, a rotating Latin American food selection and ongoing cultural events, and aims to become a reference center for those interested in learning about Latin culture.
Attendees loved the gorditas and tacos from Maiz food truck, owned and operated by Maria Rangel. A Colorado native, Rangel uses local and seasonal foods to create an amazing mix of Mexican and Colorado flavors. “Our passion is to share meals that bring happiness into your life,” Rangel says.
Hops for Habitat Has Been Benefiting Habitat for Humanity Since 2013
Usaj Realty has been hosting Habitat fundraiser Happy Hours since 2013, but officially started calling the event “Hops for Habitat” in the summer of 2015 when it hosted the first one in collaboration with Denver Beer Co. Habitat is a non-profit near and dear to our heart, and is something we fully believe is worth investing in for the greater welfare of our community. Habitat for Humanity coordinators and volunteers build simple, affordable houses for deserving families around the Denver metro area. The Habitat homeowners’ partnership agreement includes the new homeowners contributing “sweat equity” by building their homes alongside volunteers and taking homeownership classes to increase their commitment to the home. Habitat for Humanity establishes a fair and affordable mortgage for the homeowners to increase the likelihood of a successful living arrangement.
