Continuing their efforts to give back and help the communities which they serve, Usaj Realty along with UMB Bank recently hosted a successful drive to collect food and toiletry items for The Gathering Place.
Founded in 1986, The Gathering Place is the only daytime drop-in center in metropolitan Denver that serves and empowers women, their children, and transgender individuals who are experiencing poverty and homelessness. The organization provides services to 8,000 individuals a year.
Contributing basic daily supplies, supporting struggling families and helping women get control of their lives is the goal of The Gathering Place. It is a shelter that helps build relationships, provide childcare, offers a hot meal and fellowship, and pledges critical support services for Denver’s vulnerable populations. Erika Miller, Vice President/Branch Manager of UMB Bank, LoDo, assisted with The Gathering Place fundraiser and encourages her co-workers to do the same.
“UMB is highly supportive of its employees giving back to the community, including giving everyone at least two volunteer days off each year,” she said. “We got involved in this event, because Jenny Usaj and I both serve on the LoDo District Board of Directors and the Gathering Place is such a great charity. The event turnout was great, and we look forward to partnering with Usaj Realty on other charity events going throughout the year.”
Established in 2011, Usaj Realty is a boutique real estate company that is active in community outreach in Denver, and routinely has fundraisers for a variety of non-profit agencies including Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
