The forced closure has disrupted the operation of one of Denver’s heralded economies. For over a decade, the Mile High City has boasted some of the best and most innovative restaurants and eateries. But, thankfully and not surprisingly, many Denver restaurants have adapted and changed tactics in an effort to continue to serve its residents. Many are now offering a limited menu, takeout and delivery service to provide the same delectable food, albeit without the tableside ambiance. As a result, Denver foodies are still able to enjoy top-notch food options and support restaurants in their greatest time of need.

Rio Grande

April Andrews put this staple in the ring. Colloquially known as the “Rio,” this venerable establishment has its roots in Tex-Mex cuisine. If you’re a fan of black beans, fajitas and have been in search of a perfect plate of nachos, this is the place for you. For over 30 years, the Rio has had a loyal following, partly due to authentic food, partly due to their delectable margaritas. And you can enjoy both via takeout. Wood Paddle Pizza and Tap

Serving the Aurora region, Wood Paddle Pizza  and Tap offers outstanding pizza and pasta dishes to its customers. They have even created a take and bake kit which allows you to make a Wood Paddle pizza at home. This is a perfect project for you and the kids. Megan Ivy adores this Park Hill spot. Chook, in Aussie lingo, means chicken. Prepared over a charcoal rotisserie, this mouth-watering fare will quickly become a family favorite once you’ve tried it. Reopening on May 11, Cho77’s food is simple divine. Located on the 16th Street Mall next to Blake Street, they offer Southeast Asian-inspired bites, noodles, curries, and cocktails. The menu is small and straightforward and you really can’t go wrong with what you choose. We recommend the Thai Coconut Curry. See their whole menu here.

Las Delicias

A Denver staple since 1976, you can’t go wrong with Las Delicias. With 4 locations around the metro area, you are sure to find a pick-up spot near you. Their food is “made with fresh ingredients from family recipes that have been handed down from generations” and is a favorite of the crew at Usaj Realty.
