Solterra’s Enduring Features Continue to Attract Home Buyers

People looking to move out of Denver and feel a strong sense of community are finding the Solterra development in west Lakewood very appealing.

This neighborhood is over 10 years old now, and its enduring Tuscan style architecture and variety of living options continues to attract a wide demographic. Located adjacent to Lakewood’s Green Mountain and just north of Bear Creek Lake Park, Solterra offers multifamily living choices as well as patio and single family homes.

Solterra is a well-established enclave and features The Retreat Clubhouse for its residents as well as a spa and fitness center, and an outdoor pool that operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Solterra residents love the proximity to open space, the variety of parks, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails in addition to the easy access to C-470 and Morrison Road.

Usaj Realty broker Kristina Casinelli resides in Solterra with her husband and young daughter and offers this insight into the neighborhood and its many features.

What is Solterra?

Solterra is a Tuscan style new build community on the western edge of Lakewood and is a short 20 minutes from downtown Denver. Overlooking Red Rocks, the neighborhood is surrounded by open space including Bear Creek Lake Park, Hayden Green Mountain Park and Dinosaur Park.

Tell us a little bit about the Solterra community.

Solterra is a family-friendly neighborhood with much to offer the outdoor enthusiast. The western location gives a head start to the mountains against Denver weekend traffic, while also having easy access via 6th Ave. to all the restaurants and attractions of the city.

What makes this neighborhood unique?

I love the architecture of the homes here. The builders have done a great job in keeping the Tuscan inspired theme alive throughout the various stages of the neighborhood. Solterra is also unique, being a newer community in the Denver metro area. It can sometimes be difficult to find single family homes built in the last 10 years. For someone who prefers a newer build with less overall maintenance, there are many great options here. No weekend trips to Home Depot are required!

How did you get interested in living in Solterra? Why did you decide to move here?

I was initially attracted to the unique style of the homes and the neighborhood. I was also blown away by the location. I love being 20 minutes from downtown Denver, while also being so close to Morrison, Golden and Evergreen. For living in a suburban neighborhood, there is beautiful open space all around us and we get to enjoy mountain views daily.

What are some of your favorite amenities?

I love the walking paths throughout the neighborhood, gorgeous clubhouse and pool area. There is a real sense of community here and we love the people we’ve met. Our street will often organize unofficial “block parties” with live music and happy hours, and it’s been so much fun to get to know our neighbors this way.

Describe the type of homes that are available in Solterra. Are there any new builds? Any multi-family homes?

Brookfield Residential builders are wrapping up the final single family homes  along the western side of the neighborhood. The neighborhood mostly consists of single family residences, but there are townhome options for resale as well.

What kind of people are drawn to this area? Families? Singles? Retired people?

I believe the neighborhood is popular among families as the nearby schools are highly rated. However, there are a variety of residents here in different stages of life. I think regardless of age, people are drawn to the foothills and the Solterra location provides a perfect blend of both mountain and city life.

Please add anything else you think people would be interested in learning about this area.

I highly recommend that homebuyers schedule a home showing in Solterra. For us, this area bridged many of the gaps that other Denver neighborhoods were missing. We love living here and can see calling Solterra home for many years to come!
