In this historic Denver district between the 1200-1700 blocks of South Broadway, you’ll find merchants in a thriving commercial, artistic and residential neighborhood. Known locally as “Antique Row,” a variety of shops and services occupy these stately structures along this iconic stretch of Broadway.

Antique Row merchants, many of whom have been in business 30 years or more, offer quality antiques, garden supplies, fine wines, records, antique rugs, handcrafted picture frames, tiles, vintage lighting, custom furniture as well as several dining establishments, bars and even a tea room. From beautifully crafted furniture of the 1880s to toys, coins and tchotchkes, you are sure to find the perfect “must haves” for your home. It’s no wonder Antique Row is “the” antique stores Denver hub.

If you’ve never been to Antique Row, this weekend is the perfect time to explore the shops. Every August, the merchants host the Annual Antique Row Summer Block Party. This year, the festivities are Saturday, August. 12 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Enjoy sales, live music, face painting, a vintage car show, and restaurant and drink specials.

The world of antiques is changing as result of the millennials. This generation has a much different set of values that those of the baby boomers, and most likely isn’t interested in family china, bulky furniture or any non-portable items. But don’t discount their ability to spend money. According to recent studies, millennials spend upwards of $600 billion per year and it’s more likely they are interested in specialized goods. According to Ebay, millennials favor antique goods that key in on smoking, drinking and gambling, classic books, jewelry, posters, records, unusual items, coins and anything mid-century modern. Typically, they are looking for something unique or classic that fits their mobile and austere lifestyle.

Featuring over 30 shops, Antique Row is bound to have items to satisfy the most discriminating millennial shopper. In addition to the wide selection of antiques, you’ll find great restaurants and a wonderful tea room. Don’t miss Adelita’s, which serves up some of the best Mexican fare in Denver, and Capital Tea, specializing in gourmet tea, sandwiches and small plates.
